Review: "Ashley Rose" from Ruby White Tips

Hello Readers:

Boy the weather has been crazy lately. One day its beautiful crisp and sun shining, the next it's cloudy and quite chilly. All in all it's not bad, but it made taking photos of today's polish a bit troublesome because today's polish is a lovely THERMAL from Ruby White Tips.

"Ashley Rose" is a deep purple when cold and turns a sky blue when hot with a splash of holo microglitter.

This post will be a bit picture heavy as I had a hard time capturing the thermal in each state so there is a plethora of photos to show. Mainly this polish stays in a blue state from my body heat with the tips staying purple from the chill in the air.

How Ashley Rose looks most of the time

Ashley Rose in its cold state

Ashley Rose in its hot state

I had such a hard time photographing "Ashley Rose" in its hot state because almost as soon as I took my nails out of the hot water the tips would start shifting to the cold state because of how chilly the weather is. However, that was the only problem I encountered. The polish itself is wonderful! I actually thought it was so fun that the tips would stay in the cold state while the rest was in the hot state because of my body heat.

Such a fun polish! I honestly forgot how much fun thermals are. ^_^ I used two coats of polish over a clear base and a clear top coat. No application issues, and the holo sparkle just makes it more pretty! Even my husband liked how it changed colors. Love this polish a lot!

If you would like to have a bottle of "Ashley Rose" for yourself you can find it over at Ruby White Tips' Etsy Shop.

If you could have a thermal polish which colors would you want to change between? Personally I dream for a green and red changing polish for Christmas. I would go into total fangirl mode if I were to find one haha A girl can dream right?!? ^_~

Until next time.

Review: "Winter Solstice" from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics

Hello Readers:

I'm still stunned by response I've been getting lately for my FB page, you all are so wonderful! It really makes me glad I started this a year ago. <3 <3 <3

Onto the polish I have for you today, though. "Winter Solstice" is an icy blue polish that has a bit of a green shift and scattered holo. "Winter Solstice" is from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics' Holiday 2013 Collection.

I love this shade! It is such a great winter color, and I even like the bit of green shift that I noticed in certain light. I only wish I had some sunlight to show the lovely holo, but sadly nothing but clouds. I used two coats of polish over a clear base coat, no top coat. I had no application issues, you could probably even get away with one coat, but to make sure I had full coverage for photos so I went with two.

Sadly, this polish is currently sold out but Carpe Noctem Cosmetics has many other great polishes available on their Etsy Shop. Also, I'm currently hosting a giveaway with Emily of Carpe Noctem Cosmetics, which you can enter HERE.

Until next time.

Dippin Into Halloween Nail Art

Hello Readers:

I've been dying to do some nail art lately, and recently I had the opportunity to do so. I was even able to use some of Above the Curve's Harry Potter inspired collection. I wanted to go with a fun "bump in the night" feeling and I think it turned out great!

Sunset lighting

Full sunlight (midday lighting)

In this mani I used Above the Cruve's "Sirius Black" and "Polyjuice Potion" polishes as my base colors, both of which glow in the dark. I made my own decals using stamping plates BM-H06 and MoYou Sci-Fi 01 with BMC white stamping polish which I went over with ATC "Polyjuice Potion", which went on my thumb and middle fingers.

For my index finger I added some red gemstones. For my ring finger I used the "spun sugar" technique which was so easy and fun I'm mad at myself for not doing it sooner! Completely love it! For my baby finger I used some striping tape to help make stripes, when I went to take the tape off I saw the color from the tape leeched onto my polish, and oddly enough I loved the effect. Awesome coincidence!

I love this mani so much! It is definitely my favorite to date. It's fun, shows off different techniques, and is my most successful nail art to date. Love love love it! Definitely proud of myself, for my improvements with nail art!

Must do more nail art (especially the spun sugar type!)

Until next time.

Review: "Heart Of Gold" from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics

Hello Readers:

The week is flying by, September is almost over. Fall is definitely starting to take hold. I need to put away my summer clothes, and take out my winter ones.

Today, I've got a lovely polish from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics.

"Heart of Gold" is a soft pink to gold duochrome polish with gold shimmer.

Such a great polish! I'm not really one for duo/multichrome type polishes, but when I saw this one in Emily's shop it called my name. I had to have it, and am so glad I did! This polish is beautiful! I think it's a great shade to transition from warm to cold weather (or vice versa). I used two coats of polish over a clear base coat, and a clear top coat. I had no application issues.

If you'd like to have this lovely polish you can get it (and other wonderful polishes) from the Carpe Noctem Cosmetics Etsy shop. Currently the website is down for maintenance, but it should be back up by Saturday.

Until next time.
