Unfortunate Close

Hello Readers:

I'm sorry to say that I actually won't be coming back from my hiatus. My day to day life just can't handle blogging for the foreseeable future and I don't want to leave you hanging any longer. I had a blast, but I just don't have the time to do it now.

Thanks for reading my blog, and coming along with me for my journey into indie nail polish and nail art. I still love indie polish, and paint my nails but sadly I just don't have the time for blogging now, and for the next year or two I know that isn't going to change. So I will no longer be updating  my blog. I will leave it up for people to still browse, but will be taking down my FB page by May.

Here is a final look at the last few mani's I've done.

First up is "Live Long And Prosper" from Lucky 13 Lacquer which was made in memorium for Leonard Nemoy, and donations will be made to one of his favorite charities (can't remember which one off hand) with the purchase of this polish. This polish is available in linear and scattered holo. Below the linear formula is shown.

Last up is "Putter" and "Pretty Bit" from Darling Diva Polish's new Pop Back To The 80's collection. If you're a fan of the Popples and/or neons you'll love this collection.

It has been a blast all. I'll see you around the FB indie polish communities. Maybe one day I'll pop back up, but no promises.

Tschuss and farewell,
-Andi

Temporary Hiatus

Hello Readers:

I've been thinking about this long and hard. In the New Year we are moving, and things are not going as planned, so I've decided to go on  hiatus early. I really just don't have the time to blog right now.

I will occasionally post some random photos on my Facebook Page before the move, but once everything is packed up and on its way to our new place I won't have any polish to play with until it arrives there.

I would like to apologize for just dropping this on my readers, but so is life. I hope that you understand the need to keep my sanity during this time, and I hope to return as soon as I can. Have a wonderful holiday to you all, and feel free to drop me a  line on my Facebook Page anytime whether just to chat or share your own mani, or whatever.

Until then here are couple photos of a mani I've done recently. It uses My Ten Friends' "Astronauts See Snow" and "Rudolph In Space". RIP My Ten Friends (Not really dead, she just had to close up shop). I will forever have hopes one day they will reopen, but they will always be my first love in the Indie world. <3

I'll miss y'all while I'm gone, and I hope I won't be gone too long. I'm really hoping to be back by March but we'll see if we can get things moving along. We've already had to push things back a little and so much is still up in the air. Blah... moving sucks.

But seriously, y'all are fabulous and I hope to see you again real soon. Until then have a safe and Happy Holiday. Much love to all of you!

Review: "Family" from Above the Curve Plus a Flakie Guest

Hi Readers:

Just a quick note before I get to the polish today. My photos today will make the polish look more navy than it is. The polish actually has more of a purple tint to it in real life, but my camera didn't want to capture it that way.

Today's polish is from Above the Curve's Best Things About Fall Collection (Fall 2014 collection).

"Family" is a dark indigo holo, with purple and blue shimmer.

This color is beautiful, and so sparkly (though lack of sunlight doesn't show that). Such a great shade! I used two coats of polish over a clear base coat, and no top coat (as I wanted to add flakies which you'll see in the next set of photos). It went on easy and smooth, no application issues.

Lately, I've been wanting even MORE sparkle, and I adore flakies so I went for a flakie topper. The flakie topper I chose came from Darling Diva Polish's Girlfriends Collection "Hey Gorgeous!"

Sadly my photos didn't do any justice whatsoever to the flakies so I took a quick and dirty photo to better show the flakies and it's awesome color shift. I apologize for the awful cuticles in the last photo, the winter weather is being a pain on my skin and I hadn't had the chance to moisturize yet.

Isn't the flakies BEAUTIFUL?!?!? I loooove it! DDP's "Hey Gorgeous!" was the perfect compliment to Above the Curve's "Family". I really can't stop looking at my nails. Totally fabulous! Oh so much pretty in one combo!

If you'd like either of these polishes you can get "Family" from Above the Curve's Etsy Shop, and Darling Diva Polish's BigCartel Shop.

Until next time.

Carpe Noctem Cosmetics Nordic Collection

Hello Readers:

Readers, readers, readers, have I got something beautiful to show you today! Carpe Noctem Cosmetics is releasing their winter collection today, and I am going to share it with you today.  The Nordic Collection consists of 4 sheer holo polishes.

My first set of photos for this collection I was pretty unhappy with overall. I only liked a few so I went back and reswatched them. I lucked out and was able to get some sunshine for a limited time to show the holo.

First up, is "Dagr's Chariot".

"Dagr's Chariot" is a sky blue sheer holo.

I used three coats of polish over a clear base coat. Sunshine photos have no top coat, inside photos have a clear top coat. I really love the shade of this blue it really is such a sky blue it practically blended in with the sky in the background of the sun photos! The opacity builds well and goes on super smooth. No application issues at all.

Next up is "Frigg's Vision".

"Frigg's Vision" is a lilac purple sheer holo.

We all know I am a purple lover, and well lilac has a special place in a my heart, and "Frigg's Vision" is no exception. It is lovely! I wish it was in season so I could have it next to a sprig of lilac from my neighbors tree. I used three coats of polish over a clear base coat. Sunshine photos have no top coat, inside photos have a clear top coat. The opacity for the purple builds well but if you do thin coats you may need 4 coats instead of 3.

Next up is "Winds of Thor".

"Winds of Thor" is a gray sheer holo.

This gray is fantastic! At first when I was applying it I was worried the opacity wouldn't build well, but boy was I wrong. In fact I think this one builds opacity the easiest out of all of them. You may even be able to get away with 2 coats if they're thicker coats. I used 3 coats of polish over a clear base coat. Sunshine photos have no top coat, inside photos have a clear top coat.

Finally we have "Loki and the Snake".

"Loki and the Snake" is a mint green sheer holo.

This polish is the most sheer of all of them. It definitely takes a bit for the opacity to build. I used three coats of polish over a clear base coat, but I think four would be even better. Sunshine photos have no top coat, inside photos have a clear top coat. This is such a lovely green, and I may have a soft spot for Loki *wink*.

Overall, this collection is wonderful! I don't really have any negatives to say about any of them. They applied beautifully, and they sparkle so much! I did find out that since these were sent to me Emily has added more holo to them just fyi, so even more sparklies! ^_^

This beautiful collection goes on sale TODAY (12/12/14) so go check out Carpe Noctem Cosmetics Etsy Shop to get yours!

Until next time.
