Review: "Master of Disguise" from Delush Polish

Hello Reader(s):

Today I have a special treat. A new indie brand!!! (well new to me). I'm featuring Delush Polish, which is a 3free (free of formaldehyde, toluene, and dibutyl phthalate) and cruelty free brand. They have so many amazing polishes to choose from. I immediately fell in love with their Halloween collection (aka Slice of Life Collection) which was inspired by the show Dexter (what two Dexter inspired posts in a row?? Yep! lol).

Today we have "Master of Disguise" which is a deep chocolate jelly polish with orange, gold and copper glitter.

I used a clear base coat, 2 coats of polish, and 1 clear top coat. I probably would have used 3 coats for a little extra opacity but I did this at night so I thought I had full opacity.  You'll see the difference in the daylight photos. Overall I had no problems with this polish. No curling glitter, and it all went on smoothly.

I apologize for the close up shot of my thumb being a little blurry. I was trying to get a good macro shot so you can see how awesome the glitter is. I really love this polish. It makes such an excellent fall shade and is easy to work with. It'll definitely be a staple polish for me.

If you'd like to have your own bottle of this polish or any other Delush polish go check out their website and to keep up with any giveaways or up coming collections follow them on Facebook.

Until next time.

  1. Wow! It's definitely a gorgeous colour, I'd also would layer it on a black base or an opaque dark chocolate polish, just to let the glitters stand out even more!

  2. Hello,
thank you for your suggestion, it was really appreciated.
I'll try to give you the favor back :-)

The first thing that I can note is that the background image distracts the attention... maybe you should consider to extend the area dedicated to the posts.
You should also improve the quality of your pics using a lightbox (I also should follow my own suggestion to be honest...).
On the other hand, your style is smart and easy to read, well done!
Hope it helps.... have a nice day!

  3. Hi Polished Pooka here! I'm from the blogger boot camp.

I must say, I really like the last three photos the best, they are the most well lit! One thing I would do is paint a little closer to the cuticle line. The distance makes it look as if you've worn this polish for a few weeks and it's grown out. If you don't have a steady hand and are afraid of getting polish on your skin, you can always clean up with a thin brush dipped in acetone! I hope this helps :)

  5. Thank you for your feedback. I have been thinking about a lightbox for awhile now since fall/winter time makes for way too many overcast days. I will definitely have to look into it more so I can get better lighting for my photos.

  6. Thank you for your feedback. I agree that I need to paint closer to my cuticle. However, I have found that a thin brush has not worked for me for clean up. I have since switched to a pointed qtip that a friend recommended and I have found that to work best for me. Again, thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it :)

  7. Thank you for that suggestion. My brush is sturdy but not angled, an angled one might work better like you said. I cannot use acetone though. My skin will crack and bleed or break out in rash if it comes into harsh chemicals like that. I can only use more oil based organic polish removers.

  8. Ah I've fallen into that trap when painting my nails at night before lol.
Hi I'm another boot camper :). I really like the layout of your blog especially the side bar as it's really clear. I do agree that the background is a little much though, maybe you could incorporate the same image into your banner instead as it is a pretty image? The only other tiny thing is I found your tag line a little hard to read (though maybe that's just cos I'm on a phone to be fair)... it's a silly little thing really just that I got distracted trying to read that when I should have been reading your blog lol.
I also liked that you gave quite a bit of detail about the brand. You've got a great blog here :).
