Review: "Edoras" from The Lady Varnishes

Hello Readers:

Sorry for the short notice, but today's post will be the only one for this week. I'm off to Barcelona tomorrow for the rest of the week, and I'll be back next week with some more lovely polishes.

Today I'll be showing you "Edoras" from The Lady Varnishes Middle Earth collection. "Edoras" is a bronzed gold polish with holo pigment and a matte finish.

Yet another matte polish from The Lady Varnishes that I have fallen in love with. Isn't it just lovely?!?!? The color is fabulous and wow that sparkle, and it's MATTE. So much LOVE! I had no application issues. I used two coats over a clear base coat, and no top coat.

This wonderful polish, along with the rest of The Lady Varnishes collection will soon be discontinued, so once it's gone it's gone. You'll find this and the rest of the collection in the Last Call section of her Etsy Shop. Snag it while you still can.

Until next time.

Review: "Mistress of All Evil" from The Lady Varnishes

Hello Readers:

My apologies for not having this post up yesterday. Life got in the way, so I had to postpone until today. However, I have a wonderfully evil polish for you. It is one of The Lady Varnishes from her Disney Villains collection. Each Disney villain is usually brought out for one month only, but for the month of October Kirsten has released all Disney villains until after Halloween.

Today's polish "Mistress Of All Evil" was inspired by (one of my personal favorite) Disney villains, Maleficent.

"Mistress Of All Evil" is a blackened polish with a purple to red color shifting shimmer, and with different sized iridescent, green, and bronze hex glitter.

Sorry about the indoor shots being a little blurry, my camera didn't want to cooperate but I wanted to show you the intensity of color they showed. Isn't this polish just deliciously evil? I loooove it so much! I think it portrays Maleficent wonderfully. I used two coats of polish over a clear base coat, and a clear top coat.

Whether you are a Disney fan or not, I think this is a wonderful must have polish! If you agree head on over to The Lady Varnishes Etsy Shop to pick it up while you still can.

Until next time.

Review: "Fangorn" from The Lady Varnishes

Hello Readers:

First, I would just like to apologize about not having a post up yesterday. A bunch of things happened that I won't go into, but suffice to say the last throwback Thursday won't be happening. Although, maybe now and again I might throw one in there just to reminisce about some past favorites.

Now onto today's post which I am super happy for! I have another polish from The Lady Varnishes Middle-Earth collection, this one inspired by Fangorn Forest. "Fangorn" is a dark green matte polish with emerald and sapphire microglitter.

Have I told you how much I love her Middle-Earth collection?!? If not (and even if I have) I FREAKING LOVE her Middle-Earth collection. I really adore her matte polishes. They're so gorgeous and each is unique, whether they have added shimmer, microglitter, or whatever. They are all so beautiful!

And I think Fangorn might end up being one of my favorites of the collection. I really love this shade of green and the hint of sparkle is beautiful! I used two coats of polish over a clear base coat, and no top coat.

Seriously, if you haven't already check out The Lady Varnishes Etsy shop for some fabulous polishes!

Until next time.

Grim Grinning Ghosts Duo

Hello Readers:

I have an awesome collaboration duo to show you today, and it even includes a new-to-me brand! (woot woot!) Today's duo is called Grim Grinning Ghosts which the makers based off of the Disney ride 'The Haunted Mansion'. The Lady Varnishes created one of the polishes, and Sweet Heart Polish created the other.

First, a little about Sweet Heart Polish. Sweet Heart Polish is a 5free, cruelty free, gluten free, vegan friendly brand. Recently, Sweet Heart Polish has also begun donating $1 from every bottle sale to charity.

Now, onto the polishes. Up first is the polish Sweet Hear Polish created, entitled "Hurry Ba-ack". "Hurry Ba-ack" is a black jelly based polish with neon green, blue and purple hex glitter, tiny iridescent glitter and a splash of holo.

I wish my indoor shots had turned out better, I just couldn't seem to find a good way to light the polish without all that glare on it. So I apologize for not doing this polish justice. It is very lovely, I absolutely love the bright colored glitter! I used three coats over a clear base coat, and a clear top coat. If you want to do less layers you can layer this over a dark base coat. The application was a teeny bit thick, also it chipped rather easily. Overall, a great polish and am intrigued to try out other Sweet Heart Polishes in the future.

Now onto The Lady Varnishes polish entitled: "Welcome, Foolish Mortals". "Welcome, Foolish Mortals" is a murky green based polish with different sized iridescent glitter, and even glows in the dark!

I must apologize once again. I was unable to obtain glow in the dark photos of this polish. My camera just won't do that kind of photo. Anyhoo, this polish is wonderful! I must admit that it is my favorite of the two (and not just because it glows in the dark). This polish is just so different from all of my other polishes that I lean towards this one more. I used three coats of polish over a clear base coat, and a clear top coat. I had no application issues.

This duo was limited edition so it is no longer available but check out the makers shops to see their other wonderful polishes: Sweet Heart Polish & The Lady Varnishes

Until next time.
