Double Review: "Drive Shaft" & "Golf Pro" from BB Couture

Hello Reader(s):

Things have been pretty hectic this week so I'm definitely looking forward to this holiday weekend. (It is Thanksgiving for all my international readers). I'm actually quite shocked I was able to fit this post in, but it was a goal of mine for today so: Woot woot! ^_^

Anyways, today's post is a double feature. It is two polishes from BB Couture's nail polish for men collection. Not many brands specify polishes for men but it is slowly becoming a trend; a trend I'm all on board with. After all why should only the girls have all the fun with polish ^_~ Now I have no idea what kinds of nail polish men would like to wear, but I know that even I like the men's line from BB Couture, and here are two I've tried out.

First is "Drive Shaft" which is a copper tan frost polish with shimmer:

Second is "Golf Pro" which is a dusty swamp jade green with silver shimmer:

The frosted shimmer in Drive Shaft if very prominent whereas the silver shimmer in Golf Pro is much more subtle. I used two coats over a clear base with one clear top coat. Both polishes went on smoothly and you could probably get away with one coat but just to make sure I used two.

In retrospect I think I would have chosen to either use two different colors together or just use one of these as an accent nail because overall I dislike this color combo together. However, individually I really love both these polishes. So I'll definitely be using them again in the future but with different color combos.

For any Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales please check their Facebook page for more info, or if you just want to get your hands on some of their products go check out their website. They have a huge variety of colors to choose from.

Until next time (and Happy Thanksgiving USA)

Nail Polish Jewelry from BKD Signature

Hello Reader(s):

Today I have something a little different to share with you. Today I'm going to be showing you some handmade jewelry from BKD Signature that uses nail polish as an 'ingredient'. I previously mentioned BKD Signature once before about a giveaway they were having.

I will be showing you photos of the jewelry I currently have from them, and I can't even begin to tell you how much I looove them ^_^ (but then again I am a sucker for sparkles lol) The jewelry I will be showing you today uses My Ten Friends nail polish as their base. BKD Signature doesn't just use My Ten Friends, she uses other brands as well but because of my love for sparkle I'm most attracted to her ones made using MTF polishes.

First up is: Mr. Universe Star Pendant

Mr. Universe is a collaboration polish between My Ten Friends and Overall Beauty. MTF used Overall Beauty mineral's Black Knight eyeshadow as a base to inspire the Firefly themed polish. It is a dark gray base with turquoise and gold glitter.

Brie over at BKD Signature took that polish and created her Mr. Universe Star pendant.

This gold star pendant with Mr. Universe is GORGEOUS! The sparkle is amazing and I like that I can change the length as needed with the dividers (I don't really know what they're called but that's what I call them lol). Exclusive Mr. Universe jewelry is being sold at Overall Beauty. Go grab yourself one now. You can also get your own bottle of Mr. Universe nail polish there while your at it ^_~

Next up: Vampire Planet Ornate Floral Pendant

Vampire Planet is part of MTF's Halloween collection. It is a raspberry colored polish with purple glitter, and black and silver holo glitter.

In this case this polish pendant was an oopsie. Brie had accidentally painted Vampire Planet on the wrong plate base. This plate was meant for Alien Blood (another MTF halloween polish) but I think this oopsie is AMAZING!

Isn't the color GORGEOUS! No joke when I got the package I opened it and immediately put the necklace on. Its sooo pretty! So much sparkle and I think it goes great in this floral plate. BEST OOPSIE EVER!! Because this oopsie was so beloved, Brie made a LE series of these go message her over on her Facebook to see if any are still available. If there isn't she is always open to custom requests. If you want to grab a bottle of Vampire Planet you'll have to check out MTF's Facebook for their next restock date.

Last but not least: Solar Dragon Star Pendant

Solar Dragon is part of MTF's summer collection. Solar Dragon is a firey polish chalk full of different sized hexes in red, orange, and gold with an orangey red glitter based.

Brie took this fiery polish and put it in a bronze star plate.

Again such a stunning piece! The sparkle is so amazing, and the bronze is a great accent to this polish! I love my jewelry (and my polishes! lol) so much! I even have more on the way which I am sooooo excited for! Please go check out BKD Signatures Etsy page to get your own jewelry. There are SO many more options than the 3 I am showing today. You won't be disappointed.

Also go check out her Facebook for more info on her upcoming Black Friday/Cyber Monday specials which are going to be awesome! There is even supposed to be a flash sale sometime today on her FB page. Don't miss out!

PS. Also I just want to mention so far these pieces have been quite durable. I'm rather a clumsy person and so far these have survived a few falls with no dings or cracks.

Until next time

Happy 50th Anniversary Doctor Who!

LOL okay I had to do that. Okay so today as most of you know is the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, and I'm so pumped!!! I just know the 50th anniversary special is going to be EPIC! Here's a sneak peek for y'all. Also... WARNING this post is going to be pic/gif heavy!

I knew BBC would do something big for the anniversary, but when I heard they were bringing back David Tennant to reprise his role as Ten this is exactly how I felt:

I too wanted to commemorate this special day. So I decked myself out in my Doctor Who t-shirt, my TARDIS hat (since its chilly), and I did a Doctor Who mani. Did I do something super spectacular you ask?

I tried to... I tried my hand at doing nail art (just some simple stuff since I've never tried it before) but wow it turned out to be a complete disaster! An utter disaster! It was all:

When I wanted:

So no nail art for me... but I still LOVE my mani. (Yes that's right now onto the nail polish. FINALLY! lol) For my Doctor Who mani I used Lucky 13 Laquer's Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey nail polish.

I had some troubles with my camera... blurry photos, bad lighting, discoloration... etc, but in the end I think I got a few good captures.

1 elmer's base, 3 coats polish, 1 top coat

Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey (WWTW) is a deep blue jelly with different size squares and hexes, and has holographic stars and moons. Sadly I had to dig for the stars and moons, but it was partly my own fault. Usually if I turn my bottle upside down when I start my mani it gives the big glitter enough time to float down, but I should've put the bottle upside down sooner since it needed a little extra time. Otherwise this polish went on great. It really only needs 2 coats for opacity but I did 3 trying to get at the stars and moons.

This polish is awesome! Definitely a hit for my Doctor Who theme ^_^ It will definitely be a staple for me even without a Doctor Who reason to wear it. Oh! And Lucky 13 is having a sale PLUS a chance to get a very limited edition Doctor Who Polish called "Fish Fingers and Custard" go check out her post for details and her shop to get some of your very own DW polishes.

Well sadly this brings my post to a close but as Eleven would say:

So I will leave you all with these fun extras:

Until next time.

Review: "Mr.Universe" from My Ten Friends & Overall Beauty

Hello Reader(s):

I've got a special polish for tonight's post. It is an amazing glitter bomb from My Ten Friends that was made using Black Knight eye shadow from Overall Beauty Minerals. The polish was also inspired by Mr. Universe (hence the name!) from the Firefly movie Serenity.

Black Knight from Overall Beauty Minerals

Just a quick apology. I'm sorry about some of the photos showing a yellow discoloration to parts of my skin. I had been cutting up a bunch of cantaloupe and mango and I didn't notice that the juices had stained the hand that was holding the fruit. Now onto this wonderfully fabulous polish! My Ten Friends and Overall Beauty Minerals collaborated to come up with this amazing polish:

Mr. Universe

Mr. Universe has a dark steel gray base (that came from the Black Knight eyeshadow) and different sized gold and turquoise hexes and squares. This polish went on very smooth, and I didn't even have to do a clean up for once from a shaky hand lol I got decent opacity from doing 2 coats of the polish but if you want even more you can always do 3 coats.

1 Elmer's coat, 2 coats polish, 1 clear top coat

This polish is super gorgeous! I love it so much! If you'd like to add this must have polish to your collection it is being exclusively sold at Overall Beauty. As well the matching jewelry made by BKD Signature is also being exclusively sold at Overall Beauty. If you'd like to see more polishes that My Ten Friends has created head over to their website

Until next time.
