Review: "Crushin' It" from Sea Lore

Hello Readers:

I apologize for not getting this post up yesterday, I wasn't feeling the best but today is another day. Today I have a polish from Sea Lore's Finding Nemo collection, which happens to be one of my favorite Disney movies! So I was super excited when I saw the polish for one of my favorite characters: Crush the sea turtle! ^_^

Sea Turtle (img src: google)

Crushin' It is an olive green based polish with glitter in various sizes and shades of green, brown, orange, gold, and copper. It also has a green and copper shimmer.

I love love LOVE this polish! It goes on a little sheer so you'll need 3 coats of it for opacity, or have some colored undies to make it pop. It goes on smooth, and easy. It's so gorgeous, even if it wasn't from a movie I loved I would make sure I had this in my collection.

If you want to get your hands on a bottle of this or any of her other wonderful ocean inspired polishes go check out Sea Lore's website.

Oh! Also at this time Sea Lore has a deal going on. She has recently started a line of fisherman net scarves with color schemes that match some of her polishes.The scarves are $15 each or you can buy the combo which is a scarf of your choice plush a full size polish of your choice for $20.

Until next time.

Review: "Lake of Shining Waters" from Literary Lacquer

Hello Readers:

I apologize profusely for the lack of posts. I've had a lot of horribly overcast weather lately, and though I did make myself a lightbox because of that situation only one of the lights I have is strong enough to light it (and one just won't cut it for good pics). So sadly I've had to wait for some semi-decent weather, and luckily that is today.

Awhile back you may remember my post of Literary Lacquer's "Raspberry Cordial" holo polish, and you know I fell in love with her holos. Well today I've brought to you another of her wonderful holo polishes! Today's polish "Lake of Shining Waters" is a teal colored holo from her Anne of Green Gables collection.

1 clear base coat, 3 coats polish, 1 clear top coat

Look at that sparkle!

This color is GORGEOUS! And the sparkle is AMAZING! However, I did have a slight issue when applying this polish. In certain places it seemed to leave gaps on my nail instead of coating it, hence why I needed to use 3 coats for full coverage. Other than that this polish is lovely.

If you would like to grab yourself a bottle of this polish (or any of her amazing holos) go check out Literary Lacquer's ETSY page, or if you want to keep an eye out for new releases/restocks follow her on Facebook.

Until next time.

Review: "Spacebound" from My Ten Friends

Hello Reader(s):

I have a super gorgeous glitter bomb for you today! I honestly never thought something would even come close to moving My Ten Friends' Starry night from my number 1 favorite spot. Today's polish "Spacebound" from My Ten Friends is now tied as my favorite glitter bomb polish.

Now this is actually a reformulation of the original Spacebound. Some of glitter that was used in the original Spacebound was discontinued so it needed to be redone. I do not have a bottle of the original so unfortunately I don't know what the original looks like but I LOVE the reformulation!

The new Spacebound has a navy blue base (but I think it looks more indigo personally) with purple, blue, and silver hex glitter in various sizes.

This is so gorgeous!!! And it goes on smoothly!! I used 1 clear base coat, 2 coats polish, and 2 coats clear top coat to make it all smooth. It's simply stunning!!! Love it sooo much! If you'd love to get your hands on this beauty keep an eye out on the My Ten Friends Facebook for upcoming restocks of this lovely polish. If you'd like to check out their other available glitter bombs go check out the My Ten Friends website.

Don't you all just LOVE this color combo?!? :)

Until next time.

Review: "Green Diamond" from Darling Diva Polish

Hello Reader(s):

I know it's been forever since I've featured something from Darling Diva Polish (not including the nail art I did over for holidays). Somehow I fell out of the loop and missed a lot of their collection releases. I blame Facebook for being greedy bastards and not showing me their posts, but luckily I got my hands on some great polishes! Darling Diva Polish released a Diamond Collection, which featured several holo polishes in different shades that diamonds come in.

Frankly the whole collection is fabulous! Today, though I'll just be showing you "Green Diamond". It is super gorgeous, and super sparkly! You could probably get away with just 1 coat of the polish, but out of habit I used two coats over  a clear base, and a clear top coat.

Such amazing sparkle!

Full on sunlight

So gorgeous! I loooove this collection! I can't wait to show you more of them! In the meantime if you want to get your hands on their Diamond collection or some of their other polishes check out their website.

Until next time.

Double Review: "Bird Is The Word" & "What The Deuce?" From Girly Bits

Hello Reader(s):

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Things have been a little crazy around here... still trying to get off of night shift sleep hours. So far its been an epic fail, but here's hoping it gets easier this week. Anyhoo, onto my review.

I have two lovely holo's for you from Girly Bits. They are both from their Fall 2013 collection, and both inspired by the tv show The Family Guy. First is "Bird is the Word" which is a very lovely violet/magenta holo with add shimmer. Second is "What the Deuce?" which is an amazing kelly green scattered holo. (There is a third Family Guy polish called Giggity Giggity Goo, and that has been featured in two previous nail art posts I have done.) These two lovely holos today are just fabulous!

1 base coat, 2 coats polish, 1 clear top coat

These polishes are so gorgeous! Sadly due to bad weather I wasn't able to get photos that even began to do them justice. So I have officially decided to invest in a light box. It'll probably be a month before I get one, but it'll be worth it in the end. I know you can make your own, but getting the things I need to even make one would be spending the same amount of money anyway so I'll just be buying one.

Nonetheless, these polishes are stunning and I loooove them. Especially "What the Deuce?" I have many dark green polishes and a few mint colored polishes, so this has been my first kelly green polish and I can't stop staring at this color. It is beyond fabulous! I'll be sneaking this polish on my nails whenever I get a hankering for a sparkling green. ^_^

If you would like to get yourself a bottle or any of Girly Bits' other fabulous polishes. Go check out their website or follow them on Facebook for their upcoming releases.

Until next time.

Last Post of 2013! New Year's Eve Nail Art

Hello Reader(s):

First, I wish you all a very Happy New Year!

Second, I've seen numerous blogs doing a list of their favorite polishes/brands of 2013 (well at list in a lot of the blogs I read), but I am not doing that this year. I first started my blog back in July, so part of me feels like that's just not a long enough time in the indie/blogging scene to do that kind of post justice. Especially since I haven't gotten around to even swatching some of the polishes I've received and I just know at least a few would make it on my list.

So with that I have decided not to do a list of my favorite polishes or brands this year, but I will do a shout out to the brands that I have reviewed this year, and I can't thank these brands enough. Some of the makers I have gotten to speak to and some I have not, but I am truly thankful for these lovely people who work so hard to give us such pretty paints for our nails ^_^

But before I get to the shout out...

Here is my nail art for New Year's Eve. It is nothing elaborate by any means. It is just very simple. I used Girly Bits' Giggity Giggity Goo as a base, and I used My Ten Friends' First Contact as an accent. I had a different plan for my nails but sadly my package didn't arrive in time so I went with Plan B.

natural light

full on sunlight

I used 1 base coat, 2 coats of Giggity Giggity Goo, 1 coat First Contact, and 2 clear top coats. Everything went smoothly and I think overall it looks great. I think the next time I use this technique though I will put the full glitter coat on my thumb and just dab the tips of all my fingers with glitter.
Still.. fabulous polishes and so sparkly! ^__^

And now onto my shout outs, and in no particular order (I apologize grately if I end up missing anyone!). Thank you to:

Also thank you to these stores that helped me get my lovely polishes:

OverallBeauty (thank you Kim!!!)

As well thank you to Brie who has made me so many beautiful nail polish jewelry!

One final thank you to... YOU! My readers!!! You guys are awesome, and I hope to share more with you all soon! <3

Until next time.
-Andi

PS. My New Year's resolution is to work on more nail art ;)

Review: "Jack Frost" from Ruby White Tips

Hello Reader(s):

I hope you're all enjoying the holidays. I honestly can't believe how fast this year has gone by. Today I've got a new to me brand. It is called Ruby White Tips. I've been wanting to try them for awhile now, and so glad I was finally able to get my hands on some of their polish. They are a company that was started by a mother and daughter. Their polishes are cruelty free and 3-free. They also take custom polish orders.

The first Ruby White Tips polish I had to try was their Jack Frost polish, and is an electric blue. It caught my eye immediately and I knew I had to have it for the winter season!

1 clear base coat, 2 coats polish, 1 clear top coat

Isn't this polish absolutely gorgeous?!?!? I love it sooo much! It's so beautiful. I feel like my photos and my words just don't do it enough justice. I can't wait to wear this polish again, and I'm already thinking of ideas to use it in some future nail art.

I had the unfortunate accident to not give it enough time to dry properly and I dented my nail polish on my other hand (hence why no shots of that hand), so please do let this beauty dry properly. If you would love to get yours hands on this stellar blue or maybe just interested in some of their other polishes go check out their ETSY shop or to keep up with future sales/releases like their Facebook page. I know you won't regret it.

Until next time
