Review: "Relative Dimensions" from Above the Curve

Hello Readers:

I have something super beautiful for you today folks! And just as awesome it is from a Doctor Who collection (Woot woot!) AND the part of the proceeds of the sale go to charity since it is an Above the Curve. SO much awesomeness in one bottle!

"Relative Dimensions" is a purple scattered holo with red/violet shimmer.

Isn't it just GORGEOUS?!? Now I'm a sucker for a scattered holo, and a purple polish, and Doctor Who inspired things but this just has it all! This polish is lovely when putting it on but when I stepped into the sunlight, BAM! The holo is amazing and completely mesmerizing! I was practically giddy the entire time I wore this polish. It has completely stolen my heart and gone into my favorites pile.

I used two coats of this beauty over one coat of clear base coat, and no top coat.

If you would like to add this FABULOUS polish to your collection you can buy it at Above the Curve's website or from their stockist OverallBeauty. A portion of all Above the Curve sales go to charity.

Until next time we meet.

Vines Stamping Nail Art and Prototype Polish

Hello Readers:

In my last post I told you about wanting to do some nail art with my Lucky 13 Lacquer LotR polish "A Mortal Life" and today I have that for you. However, I had a very hard time trying to capture the nail art. The shimmer from the polish seemed to over power the photos even though no flash was used, and I did inside and outside shots. So I apologize for the lackluster photos. I should have used a darker green so it would have contrasted better with the silver shimmer. Ah well live and learn.

In my nail art mani I used Lucky 13 Lacquer's "A Mortal Life" with MASH-50 stamping plate, and Lucky 13 Lacquer's green prototype polish to stamp with.

I really love how this mani turned out, but sadly I just couldn't capture it correctly with my camera. I think the green on green is pretty awesome, and I think the vines were fitting for Arwen's polish. :)

I also took some photos of the green prototype polish by itself so you can see what it looks like.

This is two coats of the green prototype polish on its own. There was ever so slight bubbling on a nail or two but overall this polish is a lovely forest green.

If you would like to own (or add to your collection) some Lucky 13 Lacquer polishes, go check out their website.

Also, today is the last day to enter my Spring Giveaway if you haven't already. Link below.

Until we meet again.
-Andi

PS. I've been completely scatter brained about this and should have announced sooner. I am going on vacation from June 5th - June 16th, if you would like to do a guest post on my blog (swatches or nail art) please email me at theglitzygeek@gmail.com with your name, link to your blog (new bloggers are welcome!), and what day you were interested in.

Review: "A Mortal Life" From Lucky 13 Lacquer

Hello Readers:

I have a Lord of the Rings (LotR) inspired polish for you today! (Woot Woot!) To be more specific this polish was inspired by Arwen and her love for Aaragorn. And has been aptly named "A Mortal Life".

"A Mortal Life" is a pale green (kind of a sage green) polish with a silver shimmer. It goes on a little sheer so I used 3 coats over a clear base, and no top coat.

I absolutely adore this sage green! It is so pretty, and the silver shimmer makes it feel more ethereal. However, I did have a slight problem with some bubbling on a couple of fingers. Otherwise it was great, and it has given me a great idea for some nail art. Sadly, I didn't get to it in time (today turned into a busy day unexpectedly) so look for it in my next post.

If you would like to add this LotR polish to your collection head on over to Lucky 13 Lacquer. It is currently on sale because it is being discontinued so you better hurry!

PS. If you haven't already entered, my Spring Giveaway ends in 2 days, so get your entries in while you still can (link below).

Happy Mother's Day, Review and Nail Art.

Hello Readers:

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mother's out there! I hope you all have a great day! Today I'm going to show you a Dollish Polish exclusive polish for Llarowe, and some nail art I did with it.

First, the review is for Dollish Polish's "Frozen". Frozen is an light blue crelly based polish with an icy shimmer and some iridescent micro glitter. It goes on a little sheer so I used 3 coats of polish over a clear base and no top coat.

This is a lovely polish! I love the shade of blue, and the iridescent glitter gives it a great shimmer. This would be a great polish for any fans of the movie Frozen, and for anyone who loves a great light blue polish. I had no application issues though as it is rather sheer you may choose to layer this over a light blue base coat.

If you would like to add this lovely polish to your collection or to buy as a present you can only buy this shade over at Llarowe.

As this was such a lovely polish I decided to use this as my base for my Mother's Day nail art, using childhood past-times with my mom as inspiration. My mother loves plants/flowers so I have many memories being out in the garden and in the greenhouse which led to the nail art I created below.

I really like how this mani turned out! It took me a bit to find the right polish to use for stamping the vines, but it was definitely fun once I had the right one. I used Dollish Polish's "Frozen" as my base color, Picture Polish's "Mallard" for stamping the vines with stamping plate MASH-50, and I used Above the Curve's "Happy Holidays" to freehand the hearts.

Did any of you do some Mother's Day inspired nail art for today? If so, what was your inspiration?

Also, don't forget that I have a Spring Giveaway going on right now, click the link below to get in  your entries.

Until next time.
