Review: "Edoras" from The Lady Varnishes

Hello Readers:

Sorry for the short notice, but today's post will be the only one for this week. I'm off to Barcelona tomorrow for the rest of the week, and I'll be back next week with some more lovely polishes.

Today I'll be showing you "Edoras" from The Lady Varnishes Middle Earth collection. "Edoras" is a bronzed gold polish with holo pigment and a matte finish.

Yet another matte polish from The Lady Varnishes that I have fallen in love with. Isn't it just lovely?!?!? The color is fabulous and wow that sparkle, and it's MATTE. So much LOVE! I had no application issues. I used two coats over a clear base coat, and no top coat.

This wonderful polish, along with the rest of The Lady Varnishes collection will soon be discontinued, so once it's gone it's gone. You'll find this and the rest of the collection in the Last Call section of her Etsy Shop. Snag it while you still can.

Until next time.

Review & Nail Art: "One Lifetime With You" from Dollish Polish

Hello Readers:

Today I've got another polish from Dollish Polish's Ultimate Fandom collection in collaboration with Accio Lacquer. The polish I will be reviewing today is inspired by the Lord of the Rings fandom, specifically the love between Aragorn and Arwen.

"One Lifetime With You" is a silver toned lilac shimmer based polish with hot pink flash, micro glitters in violet, periwinkle, lavender and some holo micro flakes.

Isn't it beautiful?!?!? I'm a sucker for purple, but I love lilacs so this makes me love it even more! Everything goes on smooth and easy. I wore two coats of polish over a clear base, and no top coat as I wanted to do a little extra with this mani. This polish is beautiful, but I wanted to try out some nail gemstones that I had just purchased so I added a little bling to my mani.

This was my first time using nail art gemstones, and boy I was it easy to do! Why didn't I try this out sooner?!? I love how this turned out, and will definitely be using them in the future. I love this mani even more with the little extra bling!

If you would like to buy this polish you can do so at Dollish Polish's website. If you'd like to get some of your own nail gemstones I got mine from Bundle Monster (though I'm sure there are plenty of places to get them).

Until next time.

Review: "Fangorn" from The Lady Varnishes

Hello Readers:

First, I would just like to apologize about not having a post up yesterday. A bunch of things happened that I won't go into, but suffice to say the last throwback Thursday won't be happening. Although, maybe now and again I might throw one in there just to reminisce about some past favorites.

Now onto today's post which I am super happy for! I have another polish from The Lady Varnishes Middle-Earth collection, this one inspired by Fangorn Forest. "Fangorn" is a dark green matte polish with emerald and sapphire microglitter.

Have I told you how much I love her Middle-Earth collection?!? If not (and even if I have) I FREAKING LOVE her Middle-Earth collection. I really adore her matte polishes. They're so gorgeous and each is unique, whether they have added shimmer, microglitter, or whatever. They are all so beautiful!

And I think Fangorn might end up being one of my favorites of the collection. I really love this shade of green and the hint of sparkle is beautiful! I used two coats of polish over a clear base coat, and no top coat.

Seriously, if you haven't already check out The Lady Varnishes Etsy shop for some fabulous polishes!

Until next time.

Vines Stamping Nail Art and Prototype Polish

Hello Readers:

In my last post I told you about wanting to do some nail art with my Lucky 13 Lacquer LotR polish "A Mortal Life" and today I have that for you. However, I had a very hard time trying to capture the nail art. The shimmer from the polish seemed to over power the photos even though no flash was used, and I did inside and outside shots. So I apologize for the lackluster photos. I should have used a darker green so it would have contrasted better with the silver shimmer. Ah well live and learn.

In my nail art mani I used Lucky 13 Lacquer's "A Mortal Life" with MASH-50 stamping plate, and Lucky 13 Lacquer's green prototype polish to stamp with.

I really love how this mani turned out, but sadly I just couldn't capture it correctly with my camera. I think the green on green is pretty awesome, and I think the vines were fitting for Arwen's polish. :)

I also took some photos of the green prototype polish by itself so you can see what it looks like.

This is two coats of the green prototype polish on its own. There was ever so slight bubbling on a nail or two but overall this polish is a lovely forest green.

If you would like to own (or add to your collection) some Lucky 13 Lacquer polishes, go check out their website.

Also, today is the last day to enter my Spring Giveaway if you haven't already. Link below.

Until we meet again.

PS. I've been completely scatter brained about this and should have announced sooner. I am going on vacation from June 5th - June 16th, if you would like to do a guest post on my blog (swatches or nail art) please email me at theglitzygeek@gmail.com with your name, link to your blog (new bloggers are welcome!), and what day you were interested in.

Review: "A Mortal Life" From Lucky 13 Lacquer

Hello Readers:

I have a Lord of the Rings (LotR) inspired polish for you today! (Woot Woot!) To be more specific this polish was inspired by Arwen and her love for Aaragorn. And has been aptly named "A Mortal Life".

"A Mortal Life" is a pale green (kind of a sage green) polish with a silver shimmer. It goes on a little sheer so I used 3 coats over a clear base, and no top coat.

I absolutely adore this sage green! It is so pretty, and the silver shimmer makes it feel more ethereal. However, I did have a slight problem with some bubbling on a couple of fingers. Otherwise it was great, and it has given me a great idea for some nail art. Sadly, I didn't get to it in time (today turned into a busy day unexpectedly) so look for it in my next post.

If you would like to add this LotR polish to your collection head on over to Lucky 13 Lacquer. It is currently on sale because it is being discontinued so you better hurry!

PS. If you haven't already entered, my Spring Giveaway ends in 2 days, so get your entries in while you still can (link below).
