Review: "Lil Miss Cyanide" from CrowsToes

Hello Reader(s):

I do apologize again for my absence and post that was lacking, but with all this back and forth to the doctor's with the hubby I've been rather pressed for time lately. I know you understand but I still feel bad about it.

Today though I have a special treat. A new brand, and also a new online supplier (well they're new to me lol) of indie brands. ^_^  First off is an online supplier of indie brand nail polish called Llarowe. They carry many different brands (including the new one I'm reviewing today), and they also make their own line of nail polish. Definitely check them out to see the many fabulous polishes they carry.

www.llarowe.com

The new brand today is called CrowsToes. It is 3free and cruetly free. They do not have their own shop they can only be purchased through online retailers like LLarowe and OverallBeauty. CrowsToes also has international sellers but you'd have to go to the CrowsToes Blog or Facebook page to find out the other retailers.

Now onto the polish itself. My first CrowsToes polish that I decided to try is called "Lil Miss Cyanide". It is a purple shimmer polish that has a green shimmer. I used two coats with a clear base and a clear top coat. I also apologize in advanced that some photos aren't full in focus, but it was the only way I could showcase the shimmer.

Isn't this polish fabulous?!? When I first saw this polish I knew I had to get my hands on it, so I was worried it wouldn't live up to my expectations but it sooooo does. I LOVE it! ^_^ No application problems and no nail staining. Definitely a great polish! I can't wait to try another one.

Until next time

Review: "Solar Dragon" from My Ten Friends

Hello Reader(s):

I'm sorry this post is so late. The hubby has recently become very ill so I just haven't had the time to make any posts. He is doing well enough today that I'm able to sneak in this post (finally!). Also as I am still healing from my eye surgery that I had earlier this year I still have to be careful to make sure not to accidentally poke myself in the eye so I've had to cut my nails short again. So sadly length will be an issue for a little while longer.

Now onto today's post. Another wonderful glitter bomb from My Ten Friends. This time it's even a color palette I don't normally go for, but when I saw this one I knew I had to have it. It is called "Solar Dragon" and is part of the summer collection. Solar dragon was inspired by NASA's photo of super hot plasma erupting from the sun's surface (aka a dragon tail)

NASA's photo of a dragon tail

1 base Elmer's, 3 coats polish, 1 clear top coat

Solar Dragon is a firey polish chalk full of different sized hexes in red orange and gold with an orangey red glitter based. This polish definitely lives up to its inspiration and is a stunner! I look awful in all shades of orange and yellow and most shades of red but seeing this polish I knew I still had to have it. The firey sparkle of this polish is bound to make you swoon.

If you would like to get your hands on this hot polish head on over to My Ten Friends' website, it is currently sold out but keep an eye on their Facebook page to find out when it will be restocked.

Until next time.

Review: "Butterfly Project" from Lucky 13 Lacquer

Hello Reader(s):

Today we have another special post (Warning mature themes discussed!). Here is a hint:

Okay as you can tell this post is about a butterfly polish. To be specific this is a post based on Lucky 13 Lacquer's first ever 'pay what you can' polish called "Butterfly Project". This is a polish she created to help spread awareness for the butterfly project. The butterfly project is a self harm alternative. Here are the rules for the butterfly project:

img source: may i be blog

She has created this special polish for those who wish to have an alternative to self harm and I think it's completely amazing that she has created such a special polish for those in need. Even if you cannot afford to pay regular price she offers this polish at discounted rates for those in need. She will even put your butterfly name on the bottle. One of your choosing, or if you do not have a name for your butterfly she will give it a name for you.

Butterfly Project
This polish is a purple jelly base with a rainbow of hex glitter plus some silver holo butterflies. So lovely! This has everything I need to smile. A rainbow of colors plus BUTTERFLIES ^_^ You do not have to fish for the butterflies at all. There's plenty there for all.

so many smiles for this polish!

I used two coats of this polish with 1 clear base coat, and one clear top coat. It goes on very smooth and like I said before  you don't have to fish for the butterflies though you may have to work to seperate them sometimes because as you can see above I have a couple stick together.

Such a great polish! And such a great cause. If you would like more information about the butterfly project feel free it visit their tumblr page: Butterfly Project

Also if you would like your very on bottle of Butterfly Project polish head on over to Lucky 13 Lacquer's website.

Review: "Sea witch Duo" from Sea Lore

Happy Halloween Reader(s)!

Just a small warning this post will be picture heavy as I am reviewing two different polishes in this single post. Anyways, I did not use a traditionally spooky color polish for my Halloween mani. The reason being because those more spooky colors did not make it to me on time, but honestly I don't mind at all. For Halloween Sea Lore came out with a duo polish based upon one of my favorite Disney villains: Ursula.

Ursula in disguise as Vanessa
So with that, onto the lovely polishes. First up is the topper "Utterly Ursula". I decided to do the topper by itself because to be honest its a small pet peeve of mine when I can't see a swatch of the polish as is. I love that other blogger's show polishes elevated through colored bases but I really love knowing what a polish looks like on its own so here is what this topper looks like on its own.

Utterly Ursula: 1 clear base, 2 coats polish, no topper

Utterly Ursula has a clear base with a purple shimmer and is loaded different shapes and sizes of purple black and white glitters.

such a lovely shimmer!

And now onto the base polish which is "Villainous Vanessa". Villainous Vanessa is a blue polish with blue and purple shimmer.

Villainous Vanessa: 1 clear base, 2 coats polish, no topper

The polish looks great on its own, but just check out below how the duo looks together.

1 clear base coat, 2 coats VV, 2 coats UU, and 1 clear topcoat

Aren't they just phenomenal together! I think the duo is just gorgeous, and they just bring each other to another level. Honestly I can't say enough good things about this duo. I even got some great comments from people. This is definitely a mani I don't want to remove! <3 Love it so much!
This is a limited time only polish so head on over to Sea Lore's website to get yours while supplies last.

Until next time
