Review: "Christmas Morning" from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics

Hello Readers:

First, and foremost. Today is Veteran's Day/Remembrance Day in the US/Canada. So for all those who have served, and are serving: Thank you, and we will always remember.

Lest We Forget (img src)
I did not have time to do a themed mani for this day, my soldier had other things he wanted to do today so that's what we did. I do however, have something semi-related. It is a Christmas polish, but even during the World Wars the fighting stopped and there was peace, if only for Christmas.

Today, I give you "Christmas Morning" from Carpe Noctem Cosmetics. "Christmas Morning" is a silver frosted polish with a linear holo.

This polish definitely reminds me of Christmas Morning, well, at least during those Christmases we had snow. Early morning the snow would be all frosted over and it would glisten and shine. So needless to say I adore this polish! It goes on easy and smooth, and the opacity builds well. I used 3 coats of polish over a clear base coat, and a clear top coat.

I'm not sure if this polish is still available, or if it will come back for the holidays, but you should definitely keep an eye on Carpe Noctem Cosmetics' Etsy Page to see.

I wish you all a safe and happy day, and remember to hug a Veteran today! :)

Until next time.

Quick Nail Art

Hello Readers:

I wanted to do some quick nail art and had wanted to try this design for awhile so I thought this would be a great time to do so. In this mani I've used: Colors By Llarowe's "Oorah!" and "Penny For Your Thoughts" plus BMC Stamping Polish in Gold for the nail art.

Sadly, not enough sun to really capture the holo of the CbL's, but you get a sneak peek at least. I love how my ring finger turned out, but for the life of me I couldn't get my middle finger to come out how I wanted. I redid it a few times, and just gave up and settled on what is shown here (which isn't awful but just not what I wanted). Oh, and on a side note, while I was redoing my middle finger I noticed that Color's by Llarowe "Penny For Your Thoughts" had stained my nails *sad face*. No bare nails for me for awhile.

Nonetheless, I love this mani, and adore the colors! It may not be Christmas yet but I have so many holiday art swimming around in my head I wanted to get a jump start on it. So I did two coats of base colors, and then used my nail art brush to paint on the gold design.

Out of curiosity, do any of you have tips for getting stains off nails? I can get most of the stains off with lemon juice but some of it still remains. Any and all suggestions welcome.

Until next time.

Review: "Freak Show Spectacle" from Delush Polish

Hello Readers:

Halloween may be over, but fabulous spooky themed polish is still up for grabs! Today I have a polish from Delush Polish's  Scream Supreme collection, that was inspired by American Horror Story. I will admit that I have actually never seen the show before, but I still needed the polish in my life.

"Freak Show Spectacle" is a deep plum jelly with an array of circus inspired microfine glitter. Some of the glitter colors include: red, blue, yellow, green, orange, white, etc.

Sadly there was no sun to show off the sparkle of this glitterbomb, but the colors are still so much fun! I love everything about this polish. The opacity builds beautifully and it is chalk full of microfine glitter. I used three coats of polish over a clear base coat and a clear top coat. I did experience some shrinkage but I believe that was due to my top coat and not the polish itself.

If you are a fan of American Horror Story, or just need to have this polish in your life like I did, you can buy it over at Delush Polish's website.

Are you an American Horror Story fan? What has been your favorite season so far? I tend not to watch anything horror related (though I did get into The Walking Dead). Is this something I should watch anyway or would it give me nightmares like horror movies do lol

Until next time.

This is such a fabulous polish! The color goes great with everything, and is super sparkly! I had no application issues, it went on very smooth. I used two coats of polish over a clear base and a clear top coat. It also has great wear time, no chips until day 6.

I can't wait to try out the rest of the Rebecca collection. If you would like to add this gorgeous polish to your collection as well you can buy it over at Literary Lacquer's Etsy Shop.

Until next time.
