Review: "Violets Are Blue" from Darling Diva Polish

Hello Readers:

Today I bring to you the second half of the We're All Darling Divas duo. This one is called "Violets Are Blue" and it is a vibrant pink holo with blue flecks. This post may be a bit picture heavy.

Now I'm not usually one for pink, and I was 90% sure I was going to end up giving this polish to my niece since I'm not a pink gal, but once I had this in my possession I just had to try it on. WOWZA! This polish really sparkles (as you can somewhat tell from my photos which are all full sunlight except for the first two). The blue flecks are also such a lovely touch (which wasn't very photograph friendly though luckily it shows up in some of my photos).

This polish has totally won me over (though I will admit that Cotton Candy Hangover is still my favorite of the two since I'm a real sucker for purple). I have definite plans in mind for some nail art with this duo, my first attempt didn't work but I will be trying again in the future.

If you would like to check out other Daring Diva Polish's you can check out their website and/or if you are already a fan of Carrie's polishes and would like to join her fan group and a chance at possible customs in the future feel free to join the FB group: We're All Darling Divas.

Until next time.

World Parkinson's Day Nail Art

Hello Readers:

As some of you know I was invited to join Nailpolis, a community where we can share our nail art creations. They put up a challenge to help spread awareness of Parkinson's Disease.

Excerpt from Nailpolis: "Today is World Parkinson's Day, and Nailpolis artists are raising awareness and showing their support! Parkinson's disease (PD) affects millions of people in the world. Parkinson's Disease involves the loss of nerve cells in the brain, leaving a person unable to control movement normally. Our hearts are with the brave people who are fighting Parkinson's. The Parkinson's Disease Foundation has personally reached out to Nailpolis, thanking each and every one of you for showing your support through your artwork and donations."

Showing support for World Parkinson's Day is represented by a blue ribbon and/or a red tulip, and in the spirit of spreading awareness I came up with the nail art below.

In this mani I used Delush Polish's "Bare To Be Bold" as my base, then I freehanded the blue ribbons using Different Dimension's "The Lovers, The Dreamers, And Me". I also freehanded the tulips using BB Couture's "Sloth", and Darling Diva Polish's "Green Diamond".

Overall I think this mani came out pretty well for my third time freehanding nail art. Practice makes perfect for sure!

If you would like to learn more about Nailpolis and the Parkinsons Disease foundation check out Nailpolis' Facebook or their website.

Until next time.

Review: "Cotton Candy Hangover" from Darling Diva Polish

Hello Readers:

I have something special to show y'all today, a special polish from Darling Diva Polish. Carrie created a special duo for the members of her fan group We're All Darling Divas on FB. The first one I'm going to show you is called "Cotton Candy Hangover" a blurple holo polish.

This post is going to be a bit picture heavy as I just couldn't narrow down the ones I wanted to show for this fabulous polish!

Isn't it just gorgeous?!?!? I'm so in love with this! I used two coats over a clear base coat, and a top coat. I couldn't stop thinking about this polish since I received it, and knew I had to wear it first. Cotton Candy Hangover goes on easy and smooth, and is definitely one I will be wearing every chance I get.

Although this is not available, if you'd like to be able to get in on future group custom polishes, feel free to join us over at the FB fan group: We're All Darling Divas. Or if you'd like to check out Carrie's other fabulous creations you can check out her shop: Darling Diva Polish.

Until next time

Review: "Forget Me Not" from Liquid Sky Lacquer

Hello Readers:

New (to me) Brand Alert! I finally got my hands on a bottle of Liquid Sky Lacquer. The old etsy shop says all polishes are 3free, but the new big cartel shop says polishes are 5free so I think she has switched bases to a 5free one (free of Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, Toluene, and Dibutyl Phthalate -DBP).

It was hard to decide which polish to choose, but I went with "Forget Me Not" a blurple holo polish. Apologies ahead of time as I broke a nail and had to go back to rockin' shorties (I had them in the previous couple nail art posts but I think the nail art hid just how short they were).

Isn't this a GORGEOUS polish!! I can't say enough good things about this beauty! It went on smooth and easy, two coats of polish over a clear base, no top coat. The holo in this polish is great, but unfortunately I couldn't get any full sun photos due to some cloudy weather.

I'll definitely have to get my hands on more of this brand. If you would like to try some of this polish or one of their other colors you can check out their big cartel shop here: Liquid Sky Lacquer, or you can get them from a stockiest like: Llarowe.

What is your favorite polish from Liquid Sky Lacquer? Is there any must haves for me to try to get?

Until next time.
-Andi

PS. Apologies for the shortish review, I really can't stop adoring this polish, but due to an eye issue I'm having trouble reading at the moment.

Floral Nail Art

Hello Readers:

Gosh it has been a busy week. I almost didn't have a chance to work on this post, but I made it! Here is my final nail art before going back to more swatches (though more nail art is in the works). I've been wanting to try my hand at doing at flowers using my dotting tools so I decided to give it a shot. In this mani I used Delush's "Make Me Blush", Darling Diva Polish's "Cotton Candy Hangover" and "Violets Are Blue" and "Green Diamond".

I used "Make Me Blush" as my base for this mani, and used "Cotton Candy Hangover", "Violets Are Blue", and "Green Diamond" to make up the flowers. My mani is far from perfect but I still think its super cute for my first try. I'm going to watch some more videos to get a better gist of the technique used for flowers using dotting tools.

I'll definitely be trying this technique out again! Along with some other ones that I've recently discovered on youtube (thank you youtube and all you wonderful nail artists out there!)

Until next time.

Spring Fling Nail Art

Hello Readers:

I have some more nail art for you today. It's simple but super colorful! I honestly love this one, and think it's great for spring! In think mani I've used Liquid Sky Lacquer's "Forget Me Not, Darling Diva Polish's "Rose Diamond", Jindie Nails' "Sparkle On The Vine", Girly Bits "Get Weaponized".

I used Forget Me Not as my base color, then did Rose Diamond on half my nails (except the two with Jindie Nails), and used Sparkle On The Vine glitter topper on two fingers. Finally I used Get Weaponized to accent the break in colors between Forget Me Not and Rose Diamond.

I personally love how this mani turned out! The colors are gorgeous! I'm definitely on a vibrant color kick. More spring nail art to come with my next post.

Until next time.

Spring Is Here Nail Art

Hello Readers:

Since I had so many posts involving the Picture Polish LE (limited edition) polishes that for the next few posts I'm going to be showing just nail art.

Today's nail art is a mixture of stamping and free hand spring themed nail art and includes the following polishes: Lucky 13 Lacquer's "Mist & Shadow, Cloud & Shade", Darling Diva Polish's "Green Diamond" & "Rose Diamond", Delush Polish's "Make Me Blush", Above The Curve's "Happy Holidays (2013) mini", and Piggy Paint's "Tip of the Iceberg". Stamping plates used were: "MASH-28", "MASH-32", "MASH-41".

I stamped on the ladybug, butterfly, and dragonfly. I freehanded the grass and clouds. I love the spring theme, but wish I had other bright colors to have used. I originally planned on the butterfly being orange but the orange didn't show up at all so I went with the pink. Luckily, I have brighter colors on the way.

Otherwise I think this turned out great, especially the clouds I really loved that they turned out so well for my first try. Are there any spring mani's you'd like to see me try?

Until next time.
