Review: "What's Your Angle?" From Above The Curve

Hello Readers:

I have a wonderful polish from Above the Curve for you today. It is called "What's Your Angle?" and it is a multi-chrome polish. It goes from turquoise to indigo to purple to violet, and to red, orange and gold at extreme angles. Just like the name says it's all about the angle.

This post is going to be a little pic heavy as I try to show you all the colors from different angles, and since its hard to get some of the colors when using typical picture poses I had to use some unorthodox ones, and I also took a quick video to help show the color shifting.

In Full Sunlight

Natural light

I used three coats of the polish over one clear base coat. It goes on easy and smooth, no issues at all in application. The color shift is great! This is such a fun polish! Here is a short video to help see the colorshift a little better.

Above the Curve is currently sold out of this polish, but they did just recently release the first part of their Dr. Who Collection (woohoo! I've got some on the way!). They also have other wonderful polishes so go check out their website, and remember a portion of each polish goes to charity! :)

Until next time.

Review: "Woman Of Pleasure" from Literary Lacquers

Hello Readers:

I have a beautiful polish from Literary Lacquer for you today. I actually received this polish as part of a mystery bag from OverallBeauty. I was pleasantly surprised when I received this lovely polish.

It is called "Woman of Pleasure" and was inspired by Fanny Hill; the main character in Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure by John Cleland in 1748 and was promptly banned for 200 years (anyone else tempted to try to find a copy and read it merely for the fact it has been banned? LoL I know I do!).

"Woman of Pleasure" is a periwinkle crelly based polish with navy and lavender sparkle, large navy hexes, matte pink glitter, and magenta circle glitter.

Isn't it just lovely?!? This polish goes on a little sheer but builds up well. I used three coats over a clear base, and a clear top coat. It went on easily, however, I think this polish would really pop with a colored base. Now don't get me wrong, this polish is beautiful on its own, but I really think a colored base would make it a WOW statement color.

What shade of purple would you wear under this one?

If you would like to get your hands on this polish or if you'd like to see what other lovelies Literary Lacquer has to offer go check out their website.

Until next time.

Review: "Get Weaponized" from Girly Bits

Hello Readers:

Today I have a special edition holo polish from Girly Bits that was a collaboration with Nicole from Nail Polish Wars for her two year blogaversary. They named this wonderful polish "Get Weaponized".

Get Weaponized is a teal linear holo with purple and magenta iridescent sparkles.

Isn't this polish GORGEOUS?!? The sparkle is amazing and the color is just POW! The polish went on smooth and easy. I used two coats over a clear base, and a clear top coat. This is one of those polishes that I found I would keep periodically staring at my nails. It is so lovely!

If you'd like to get your hands on this polish go check out their website or you can get it from one of their US suppliers Llarowe or OverallBeauty. At this time I do not know their other suppliers but their website will have a list of them all.

Until next time.

Review: "Dead Roses" From Jindie Nails

Hello Readers:

NEW-TO-ME BRAND ALERT! ^_^ I have a polish from Jindie Nails today. This is my first polish from this brand, and this is also a polish from Llarowe's February A Box Indied. For those who don't know. A Box Indied is a collection of 4-5 polishes from various Indie brands that are based around a theme for that month, and are exclusive to that box only.  You can buy the subscription where you get each box every month, or you can buy one month only as well.

I was dying to get the February A Box Indied, but unfortunately I was unable to. However, I did find someone who was willing to part with their bottle of "Dead Roses" from Jindie Nails which was my number one must have from that box. (SUPER EXCITED that I got my hands on it!)

Dead Roses is a purple wine jelly based polish with various sizes of holographic circles glitter, magenta and holo shimmer, and some micro glitter as well.

Natural light

Not the best lighting but this shows the micro glitter very well

I cannot say enough good things about this polish! I love love love love it! I want to wear it all the time! I didn't have to fish for glitter, even the large ones came out pretty easy. I only needed 2 coats, and it all went on smoothly with one layer of clear top coat.

Isn't this polish GORGEOUS?!?!? I'm seriously in love with this polish, and want to wear it all the time! Sadly I know you can't get your hands on this polish unless someone is willing to sell or swap theirs, but Jindie Nails makes other great polishes so go check out their website for some other lovelies.

Also if you are interested in A Box Indied (March is sold out, but April's is coming up and apparently it is going to be an all holo box!) go check out Llarowe's Facebook page and A Box Indied's Facebook page for updates on when they will be released.

Well I'm off to continue to stare at my nails (C'mon you know you do that too with a polish you adore lol!)

Until next time.

Floral Pink Nail Art

Hello Readers:

I have some lovely pink themed nail art for you today. I don't usually do pink, but when I saw "Make Me Blush" from Delush Polish I knew I had to have it, and I knew the nail art I wanted to use it for.

This was my first time using striping tape, and I'm going to need to figure out some tricks with it in the future, but overall I think this turned out well.

This baby pink polish "Make Me Blush" by Delush is soooo pretty. I really love it! I think the darker pink flower stickers with the silver striping tape worked well together. I love this mani, but after awhile my striping tape began curling up at the ends even though I put two coats of top coat over everything. So I'm going to need to read up tips/tricks for using striping tape.

Still I think this is a success, and still smile when I see this mani (even though a petal somehow fell off on my one nail).

Do any of you have tips/tricks when using striping tape?

Until next time.

Review: "Bare To Be Bold" from Delush Polish

Hello Readers:

Today I have a lovely nude polish for you from Delush Polish. It is called "Bare To Be Bold", and is a more gold toned nude polish with some shimmer and super fine holographic glitter. I've been starting to really like nude polishes, so when I saw this one I knew I had to have it.

When I applied the polish I experienced a "hmm... I'm not sure I like this with my skin tone" moment. The polish itself is very lovely, but with it being more of a gold hue I started doubting whether it was a good polish for me or not. However, the longer I wore the polish the more I liked it. The subtle shimmer brings a fun element to it.

I used three coats of polish over a clear base coat, no top coat. You really only need 2 coats. I was afraid the brush was making it streaky and wound up doing three coats but that was just me overreacting. I think this shade looks best on me in the shade/indirect sunlight. The direct sunlight really showcases the gold hue, and i don't think it works with my skintone. However, this is a great polish, and if you can handle gold hues definitely a must have nude with a little flare ^_~

If you'd like to get your hands on this polish, or any of their other fab polishes, check out Delush Polish's website

Until next time.
